2020-21 Program Information
Skate Canada PEI is pleased to offer another season with a training program for potential future competitive skaters.
The goal of this program is to identify and train young talented skaters who may be age eligible for the competitive stream. To be eligible for this training opportunity, skaters must have been born July 1, 2005 or later and have currently completed the complete STAR 6 Free Skate test OR have been born July 1, 2006 or later and have completed both assessments of the STAR 2 Free Skate. Skaters should be interested in competing in Pre-Juvenile or Juvenile next season at Sectionals. Skaters currently competing in Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice or Novice are also invited to attend.
We are offering six sessions throughout the season as follows:
- November 11 – Kensington 2:00 – 4:00pm
- November 22 – Slemon Park 9:30 – 11:00am
- November 29 – Slemon Park 9:30 – 11:00am
- December 13 – Slemon Park 9:30 – 11:00am
- January 10 – Slemon Park 9:30 – 11:00am
- January 24 – Slemon Park 9:30 – 11:00am
The November 11 session will kick off our season and be entirely on-ice, including a performance component.
The remaining training sessions will begin with an off-ice warmup at 9:30am then move to the ice for a one hour free skating session in a group instruction environment. Please come prepared with sneakers and a skipping rope as well as warm clothing. Cindy Stavert will be running the sessions.
Registration deadline is October 25, 2020.
